BIOGRAPHIE
Valentin Barray est un pianiste et compositeur français. Il a obtenu un Bachelor et un Master de Performance au Royal College of Music de Londres avec la plus haute distinction. Il a remporté plusieurs concours nationaux et internationaux, dont le 1er prix du concours du Royaume de la musique, le 1er prix du concours de musique contemporaine du Royal College of Music. Il est lauréat du concours international Claude Bonneton.

Valentin a eu l'opportunité d'étudier auprès de grands pianistes tels que Pascal Nemirovski, Andrew Ball, Edna Stern, Bruno Riguto, Christine Marchais, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Pascal Devoyon, Jacques Rouvier, Roy Howatt, Maciej Pikulski, Hugues Leclère. Il s'est également formé au piano jazz auprès de Mike Moran, pianiste ayant accompagné des artistes tels que Freddy Mercury, David Bowie, George Harrison et Serge Gainsbourg.
En plus de ses études en interprétation, Valentin a été admis au prestigieux programme de master en composition de musique de film du Royal College of Music. Il a également suivi un master spécialisé en musique contemporaine avec Andrew Zolinsky, où il a obtenu une mention "outstanding".

Valentin s'est produit sur des scènes telles que le Royal Festival Hall de Londres, l'Opéra de Rouen, le Crucible Theatre de Sheffield, la Cité Internationale des Arts de Paris, le V&A Museum de Londres et l'Opéra de Ruse en Bulgarie.
Il a récemment sorti son premier album intitulé "Mirages", qui comprend ses propres compositions inspirées de mélodies traditionnelles. Valentin a donné de nombreux concerts en solo totalisant plus de 150 représentations à travers l'Europe, notamment en France, en Belgique, aux Pays-Bas, en Suisse, en Allemagne, en Italie, au Royaume-Uni, en Bulgarie et en Pologne. Il s'est notamment produit sur les scènes les plus importantes de la musique folk européenne, tels que le Boombal Festival, le Grand Bal de l'Europe, Saint Gervais d'Auvergne, le Son Continu, Damada, Cadansa et le Marsinnes Folk Festival.

En tant que compositeur, Valentin est régulièrement sollicité pour des commandes. Il a collaboré avec la poétesse Catherine Weber pour composer, interpréter et produire la musique de l'album "Arbres à Entendre". Il a également composé la musique de l'album "La Gourmandise", commandé par l'éducation nationale. Par ailleurs, il travaille avec des marques telles que Vittel, Maif et Hermes pour composer des musiques originales.

Valentin collabore également avec le compositeur Loïc Louvel sur le projet "Cucumber", qui mêle compositions pour piano et musique électronique. Il a composé et produit la musique de "The Restless Sea", une vidéo tournée sur la plage d'Etretat pour Poz Music. Il a créé la musique du clip vidéo "Je suis une Mazurka",

Valentin Barray a fondé l'École de Piano de Rouen et occupe actuellement le poste de professeur d'enseignement artistique en piano au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Rouen. Grâce à sa passion pour l'enseignement, il transmet son savoir et son expertise à de nombreux étudiants, contribuant ainsi à la formation des futures générations de musiciens.

He has won several national and international competitions, including the 1st prize in the Frech "Royaume de la musique" and the 1st prize in the contemporary music competition at the Royal College of Music. He is a laureate of the international Claude Bonneton competition.

Valentin had the opportunity to study with pianists such as Pascal Nemirovski, Andrew Ball, Edna Stern, Bruno Riguto, Christine Marchais, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Pascal Devoyon, Jacques Rouvier, Roy Howatt, Maciej Pikulski, and Hugues Leclère. In addition to his performance studies, Valentin was admitted to the master's program in film music composition at the Royal College of Music. He also pursued a specialized master's in contemporary music with Andrew Zolinsky, earning an "outstanding" mention.

Valentin has performed on stages such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Opera of Rouen, the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, the V&A Museum in London, and the Opera of Ruse in Bulgaria.

He released his debut album titled "Mirages," featuring his own compositions inspired by traditional melodies. Valentin has given numerous solo concerts, totaling over 150 performances across Europe, including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the UK, Bulgaria, and Poland. He has notably appeared on the most significant stages of European folk music, such as the Boombal Festival, the Grand Bal de l'Europe, Saint Gervais d'Auvergne, Son Continu, Damada, Cadansa, and the Marsinnes Folk Festival.

As a composer, Valentin is regularly commissioned for projects. He collaborated with poet Catherine Weber to compose, perform, and produce the music for the album "Arbres à Entendre." He also composed the music for the album "La Gourmandise," commissioned by the national education system. Additionally, he works with brands like Vittel, Maif, and Hermes to create original music.

Valentin also collaborates with composer Loïc Louvel on the "Cucumber" project, blending piano compositions with electronic music. He composed and produced the music for "The Restless Sea," a video shot on the beach of Etretat for Poz Music. He created the music for the video "Je suis une Mazurka."
Valentin Barray founded the Piano School of Rouen and currently holds the position of professor of artistic education in piano at the Rouen conservatoire. Through his passion for teaching, he shares his knowledge and expertise with numerous students, contributing to the training of future generations of musicians.
